Regular Meetings

 

Time:  Tuesday, 8:00 p.m. to  9:00 p.m.   

Location:  Bloor Street United Church,  300 Bloor Street West  -  Toronto, ON  

Format:  Closed discussion.  Some meetings may be declared "open" on medallion nights or as per group conscience.

Discussion Groups:

  • Newcomers' and Lower Steps  (Music Room)

Each week, one of the first three steps is read, then discussed among a diverse group with varying amounts of sobriety.  "Newcomers" to AA are encouraged to attend.

  • Higher Steps  (Kitchen)

Each week, a new step (Step Four through Step Twelve) is read, then discussed among the group.  This is rotated every 10th week.

  • Big Book  (Board Room)

Each week, several pages are read from the "Big Book", then discussed among the group.

Other Information:

  • Responsibility is a GLBT-affirmative meeting.  Everyone is welcome, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.  AA's Third Tradition reminds us that "the only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking".

  • Non-smoking (smoking area outside the church at parking lot).

  • ASL interpreters welcome.  Please make arrangements with Intergroup at (416) 487-5591.

  • Meeting rooms are not wheelchair accessible (wheelchair access to the main floor only).

Business Meetings

Responsibilty business meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Boardroom.  The meetings are restricted to Responsibiltiy group members and to those who are interested in becoming members.  Business meetings are designed to pass on information, elect new officers, and to discuss and decide on issues important to the group. 

Members and those wishing to join our group are encouraged to attend the business meetings and support your group.  It's a great way to meet others already on their journey of sobriety, and a suggested method of sustaining yours through a commitment to service work.

Located on the north-west corner of  Bloor St. W. and Huron St.,

 two blocks east of Spadina Ave.

 

 

If arriving via TTC, take the Bloor West train to one of these stations:

  • St. George - then 2 blocks west,

                OR 

  • Spadina - then 2 blocks east.

 

Parking lot and on-street parking are also available.
