Public Information

The mandate of the Public Information Committee is to act as the liaison between the public and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Greater Toronto Area with the goal of carrying the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

The Public Information Committee meets on the third Monday of every month at 7:30pm at 234 Eglinton Ave. E. Each district chair reports on the activities and upcoming events in their district. We also discuss the requests that have come to the Committee from press, radio and film and the public at large. Occasionally we decline requests if they conflict with our Traditions.

The special events handled by Public Information include:

  • School visits & talks
  • Health fairs at schools, churches and other facilities
  • Literature tables at the ORC and other AA events
  • Seminars for U of T medical and nursing students
  • Interviews by various media.

Volunteers Wanted

The PI Committee is looking for volunteers who are willing to speak to non-AA groups about Alcoholics Anonymous. If you want to sign up as a volunteer, you can do so by filling out a volunteer form, found either at your group, at the Intergroup office, or here.
