Share Your Story – Your Experience Could Change a Life
Every recovery journey is unique, and every story has the power to inspire someone else.
We’re inviting members of our AA community to share their experience, strength, and hope by submitting a personal story for our newsletter. Whether you’ve been in recovery for a few months or many years, your journey could be exactly what someone else needs to hear today.
Not sure what to write about? Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- What was your very first AA meeting like?
- How did you meet your first sponsor, and what did they mean to your recovery?
- What was it like when you became a sponsor for the first time?
- What lessons have you learned along the way?
- What has sobriety given you?
- Share your experience, strength, and hope in your own words.
- Did you get sober on zoom?
- What did you have to lose before you finally surrendered to becoming willing to change?
Your story doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be honest.
Submission Guidelines:
- Length: 650–1,500 words
- Write from the heart.
- Please avoid using full names to help protect anonymity.
- Stories may be edited for grammar and formatting while preserving your voice.
Together, we can build a collection of stories that offer hope, encouragement, and a reminder that no one has to walk this journey alone.
We can’t wait to read your story. Submit your idea above
